Allen West, leader of the Republican Party of Texas, believes Texas could become an independent country and secede America from President Joe Biden – but it turns out he’s wrong.
“This is something that was written in the Texas constitution,” West, a former House representative, said on a radio broadcast. “Or Texas was promised when we became part of the United States of America – if we voted and made up our minds, we could be our own republic again.”

CNN reported that West misunderstood the Texas Constitution regarding the resolution to annex Congress. In the future, if there is a vote, Texas could be split up into five new states, not separate from the US, and declare independence.
West’s mistake follows his dismay at President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory. A November interview confirmed that West believed in the conspiracy that Dominion Voting Systems changed votes to ensure a Biden victory.
West also claimed the nation was in an “ideological civil war” on the January 4th YouTube show “Truth and Freedom,” which the host agreed, and suggested a civil war was “worth it.”
“I heard one person say, ‘But man, this can cause civil war,'” argued host Andrew Wommack. “And the other person says, ‘Well, we’ve fought one before. Was it worth it? Was it worth it to free the slaves? “Is it worth saving our constitution?” You can’t judge what is right. Based on how other people will react. You just have to do what is right. And face the consequences. “
Not long after, on January 6th, the Capitol had a riot and five people died.
