Black celebrities, artists and athletes are using their platforms to encourage people to vote in the 2020 elections amid widespread racial struggles and injustices across the country. John Legend, who has been a strong advocate of empowering blacks through civic engagement throughout his career, reminded people to vote for the Biden / Harris presidential ticket at a campaign rally in Philadelphia on Monday. During the event he accused President Donald Trump of his greed and called his "platinum plan" for blacks nothing but "fool's gold". He's also defeated rappers like 50 Cent and Lil Wayne who have been supporting Trump for the past few weeks.

“We need a president we can trust. So will President Joe Biden be. And not only will he work with Senator Kamala Harris to undo the damage of the past four years, but he will also build a better economy and a better country than ever before.

“Some of your favorite former rappers got caught up in these lies. I think they even started a new super group called The Sunken Place, ”he said.

"But Trump's black platinum plan is nothing but fool's gold because you can't rely on a word he says. Ask the Trump University students. Ask any contractors he stiffened. Ask the people His charity was supposed to help before it closed for fraud. Ask all black and brown Americans who die from this virus and lose their jobs under his supervision.

"The president is not strong. He's a coward."
