LeBron James has Kobe-esque game in Lakers win over Cavs

LeBron James had his best game of the 2020-21 NBA season on Monday.

James broke out in the Lakers' street game against his former team and scored season highs in points (46), field percentage (73.1) and 3-point percentage (63.6) in a 115-108 win against the Cavs. He also pulled down eight rebounds and grabbed six assists, two blocks and two steals to take Los Angeles to 10-0 on the road this year.

That's not all: after James missed the final third quarter hiring, he had a quick back-and-forth with a member of the Cavs front office he didn't want to name and helped him get a fourth quarter by 21 points to reach. That was more than Cleveland put together as a team (19).

A Cavs fan mocked LeBron for missing a shot in Q3. He came out on the 4th and scored the entire Cavs team.

And he did all of this the day before the year-long anniversary of Kobe Bryant's death. According to ESPN Stats & Info, James was the oldest Lakers player to score at least 40 points since Bryant scored 60 in his last career game:

Perhaps it is appropriate that James' appearance came a year after Bryant's last tweet, in which the superstar accused James of driving the game:

Keep moving the game forward @KingJames. Much respect my brother 💪🏾 # 33644
