March Madness 2021 - The Baylor Bears' championship sparked reaction on Twitter

Not perfect anymore.

After a tournament that blew up multiple teams and played one of the biggest games of all time against the UCLA Bruins with 11 seeds, the number 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs saw their quest for the first undefeated national champion since 1976 inglorious end an 86-70 loss to 1-seed Baylor Bears on Monday night.

Baylor started the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back, raining 3-pointers on Gonzaga and smothering the Bulldogs defensively when it came down to it.

This is Baylor’s first men’s NCAA tournament title.

The triumph of the bears and the heartbreak of the Bulldogs generated significant reactions on social media … starting with the notable Baylor alum Robert Griffin III.

BAYLOR NATION ….

A sad end to a remarkable season for Gonzaga. But from the tip to the final whistle, this game was Baylors. A dominant achievement in all its facets. You deserve the title.

Congratulations to the Baylor Bears on their national championship – and to the Gonzaga Bulldogs on a great season. After an unimaginable year, each team in the tournament has shown with hard work and determination what is possible. You have made your schools, communities, and country proud.

Personally, I enjoyed watching Baylor run “the best team” out of the gym.

Man … @ BaylorMBB shot lights out! They were too fast, too fast and too explosive to attack and their defenses stifled Gonzaga!

Baylor came out tonight to prove a point! Not just to win, but to prove a point .. you get it in defense and then offensively just too many options!
