Quarterback start & # 39; em, sit & # 39; em decisions are going to be tough for more than a few fantasy football owners this week. The Bye-byes take away a few border options (Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield, Joe Burrow, Carson Wentz), but it's tough matchups for multiple stars including Lamar Jackson, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes that will have many cast our 9th imagination off Week of reviewing QB leaderboards and asking if they should play a sleeper over their beloved stallions.
Jackson (@ Colts), Rodgers (@ 49ers), and Mahomes (vs. Panthers) are generally considered "must-starts," but depending on who's available, it's at least reasonable to consider other options this week. Chances are you'll start them anyway, which is probably wise given the height of their respective floors, but the ceilings for Jackson and Mahomes have been a little lower than expected this season.
9TH WEEK STANDARD RANKING:
Run back | Wide receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker
Justin Herbert (@ Raiders), Derek Carr (vs. Chargers), Ben Roethlisberger (@ Cowboys) and Matthew Stafford (@ Vikings) have QB1 benefits every week, and this is the kind of week that it should all start . Kirk Cousins (vs Lions) and Cam Newton (@ Jets) are in good spots too, though both come with low floors that make them difficult to trust towards the QBs mentioned above.
WEEK 9 PPR RANKING:
Run back | Wide receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker
Some other borderline QBs are in tough situations this week. Drew Brees (@ Buccaneers), Teddy Bridgewater (@ Chiefs), Jimmy Garoppolo (vs. Packers), and Ryan Tannehill (vs. Bears) are subpar games, and if you need deeper sleepers to replace them, you can get Drew Lock ( Consider @ Falcons) and Nick Foles (@ Titans). Tua Tagovailoa (@ Cardinals), Kyle Allen (v Giants), and whoever starts for the Jaguars, be it Mike Glennon or Jake Luton (v Texans), are all tempting options, but they should be limited to two starts. QB leagues.
Again, you'll likely stick with Jackson, Rodgers, and Mahomes, but there are other high-upside options this week. At least you shouldn't automatically keep someone like Brees or Tannehill in your line-up. Always explore all of your options and don't be afraid to take bold steps when you find yourself in a must-win situation.
Note: Check back throughout the week as we will keep updating our QB rankings based on the latest news and injury updates until kickoff.
